Art is a passion that runs through your veins. A way to communicate with the world.
It is something deep-rooted, unavoidable and completes me - without it I am not whole.
Where it began...
I can't remember a time when Art wasn't what I loved and who I was. It excites me! A talent passed down from my grandmother (so I'm told) it stayed with me and I embraced it wholeheartedly.
Art College was a revelation - being set free in a world of creative resources and possibilities, I was in my element. Years spent fascinating, exploring, learning, perfecting techniques even teaching others, this journey will continue until I draw my last breath!
Owning it...
It's pretty simple, when creativity is in everything you do, you know it's just who you are, it's more than a passion, it's a way of life.
For many years, I found 'socially acceptable' ways to put my calling to use, working as a graphic designer, social media manager, even kitchen designer. I'd create projects engaging whole schools, taking small ideas and releasing ambition, hopefully instilling that freedom in others. I learned a lot and your path, no mater where it leads, influences who you are and who you become.
Years of volunteering, years of practicing part time, ultimately the decision to fully invest in my creative story (and that of so many others) came because I could no longer deny that crucial part of me and with a little nudge in the right direction - I was all in!
